At the L2 Learn Lead event, Tim Sanders said, “You can’t lead someone well, unless you love them deeply.” As a leader I have learned how successful leadership comes when you have invested not only your time and money, but also your heart. The limit of your potential leadership is directly related to how much you love those you lead.
I want to be a successful leader. If my path towards success lacked caring about those I work with, then my path will always be shorter than I could ever hope. Love is key towards inspiring others. Your people will march toward your cause with passion and drive when you inspire them by showing them love. If you do not love your team then the only option for significant influence is through fear and manipulation.
